Ingredients and Method

Ingredients

  • 1 Tsp Dry Active Yeast
  • ¼ Cup Warm Water
  • ¼ Cup Sugar
  • 2 Cups Flour
  • Pinch Salt
  • ¼ Full Cream Milk
  • 2 Tbsp butter, Melted
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Cup Icing Sugar
  • 4-5 Tsp Water

Method

  1. In a small bowl stir together the water, yeast and ½ tsp sugar and leave to foam for 5 minutes
  2. Combine the flour, salt and remaining sugar in a bowl
  3. Add the yeast mixture, milk, butter and egg and mix well until a soft dough
  4. On a floured surface knead the dough until smooth
  5. Transfer dough into an oiled bowl, cover and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in volume
  6. Turn dough onto floured surface, roll and cut out doughnuts
  7. Let doughnuts rest for 30 minutes then place in the air fryer 160°c for 6 minutes
  8. Mix the water and icing sugar together then pour over cooled doughnuts
  9. Serve immediately
